HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FLOAT?

Eat a meal 1-2 hours before and do not shave/wax or drink coffee beforehand. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first appointment so we can give you an introduction to our facility.

DO I NEED TO BRING EARPLUGS?

Standard ear plugs will be provided for you in the float room, we also have re-usable water designed earplugs available for purchase.

WHAT IF I’M CLAUSTROPHOBIC?

Many people who are claustrophobic do not have a problem while floating. You are in complete control of entering, exiting or turning the lights on/off at any time.

HOW LONG IS A FLOAT?

A Float Session is 90 minutes which includes your float preparation (undress, shower, etc). Often the time in the tank feels much shorter and goes by quick since your inner clock is less alert. Longer floats are possible by request, please contact us for details.

CAN I FLOAT WHILE PREGNANT OR MENSTRUATING?

Yes and Yes. Consult with your physician if you have any questions or concerns before floating while pregnant. Secondly, treat the tank the same as a swimming pool if it’s that time of the month.

CAN I DROWN IF I FALL ASLEEP?

No, some people fall asleep but the water is so buoyant that you stay afloat. The worst that can happen is getting woken up with a splash of salt water in your eyes.

SHOULD I BRING MY BATHING SUIT?

The most important factor is being comfortable, the majority of floating is done in the nude but light swimwear is also acceptable. Robes, towels, soap & shampoo are all provided for you in the float room.

HOW IS THE TANK WATER MAINTAINED?

The water is fully filtered three times between each float. In addition, UV light and a sanitizer are used. The Epsom salts also act as a natural disinfectant. This creates an extremely sanitary environment.

WHERE DID FLOTATION TANKS COME FROM?

A man named John. C Lilly invented isolation tanks (also called sensory deprivation tanks) and they have been around for over 40 years. There is plenty of published research to support the benefits of this therapy (Floatation REST).
